We are gearing up for the POLE-CATS.  Our low cost stand based flash alternative power unit for the Vivitar, Nikon, Canon and all the other small flash units. This low-cost (not cheap, same components as in other Black Boxes and Tuxedos)  unit is going into production, inspired by those great guys at the STROBIST and the NIKONIANS, the blood and guts supporters of common sense photography. 

It will be available pre-built complete with Vivitar Module, (you supply the standard Vivitar AA battery clip and we'll make a module from it really cheap) really short cable DINS and power supply for affordable stand lighting and lightweight so the stand is not top heavy.

The unit will be complete down to nuts and bolts, and preassembled. It comes with pictures and descriptions and you can power a light stand for under 90 dollars including charger, shipping, and module modification with complete portability, compactness and light weight.  

The Pole cat works on either the top or bottom so that the extra hole may mount a Pocket Wizard or other remote. Pictures shows two PoleCLIPS which is not needed unless you are super rough on gear and want to make it tough to remove. The standard unit comes with wing nuts and this model uses locking nuts to discourage squirrels with tools. Squirrels are smarter than you think, especially if they only have two legs. You only need one unless you are going to leave them on semi-permanently.

It sits strongly on a round object and won't work loose. Clamp the polecat to your light stands, a monopole, a monopod below the camera for elimination of eye shadows or hang it off your tripod.

Rubber covered simple clamps, NO TOOLS NEEDED, means you are set up in seconds with site power for those Vivitar 285's. You do not have to remove the pack from stands between shoots.
