Metal foot upgrade with external 1/8" female audio port, fits Pocket wizard and anything with a 1/8"male end, and various adapters available for 3/32 and even 1/4 inch. I can also modify them to work with household type and convert some of those HSH wein plugs you have laying around. 35-45 dollars.
The standard Quantum cord for the 283/285 is the MA2 battery module. Available from Adorama, B&H, or Calumet. about 60.00 with freight drop shipped to me.
If you supply the clip, (aka the battery holder) and send or drop ship a Vivitar 283/285 to me, I will build you a custom cable 8-10 feet in length to use on a lightstand with the Black Box. This lowers the Black box closer to the ground and prevents tip-overs. $35.00 with your clip, no clip, you lost it? Add $10.00.
$35-45. This includes cutting a door slit for the module, 18 gauge cable up to ten feet, and secure screwing the door shut. As many of you are putting the 283/285's on stands and using the Perfection dual brackets, shifting the weight lower is a better idea. If you already have a MA2 laying around in the box, I can make short extensions for it.

SHORTEN NIKON SC CABLES
Note: I shorten all the Nikon Cables, some, the 28-29 are a lot tougher than the SC-17. On the page for shortening, I give you instructions for Do It Yourself. But be forewarned, I can only fix about fifty percent of the ones I get that are screwed up.
This is not for beginners or those with plumbing experience. This is micro soldering. If you have not soldered 24 gauge wire, pass and let me do the work. $30-45.
