OUR PERSONAL COUNTDOWN OF DO's and DON'TS. 


CHARGING

  •  Look for the green light on the charger when first plugged in.

  •  Connect to black box with switch "off".

  •  Then switch "on",  if battery is low, it will go to red.

  •  Do not use a wall strip,  aps,  or any other device between box and wall.

  •  Charger needs to be directly in the wall. not on a modulated strip.

  •  Either din port is ok for charging or shooting.

  •  Make sure switch is on.  √√√√√√√√  when charging

  •  Red indicates heavy charge rate,  switches to green for trickle at about 85%.

  •  Leave on charger whenever not being used with switch on. this prevents sulphation.

  •  Only charge when vertical. do not lay or store on side.

  •  Make sure area is ventilated, leave valve open on pelican cases for travel. note: close valve on pelican case if the boat you are on is sinking. in fact, pitch everything and use pelican as a life preserver with valve closed.


OPERATIONAL HINTS FOR DUMMIES

  •  Do not run unit till it dies.

  •  800 to 1000 full pops, more on partial or auto mode without ttl

  •  Do not run it to dead.

  •  Do not use any other charger than those we supply or recommend.

  •  Do not store batteries in the freezer or in snow bank if you live in north canada.

  •  Use the red caps when transporting or on an airline.

  •  Do not swim with pack.  sharks sense electricity.

  •  In wet weather a ziplock is a good idea.

  •  Clean terminals on modules with isopropyl alcohol and an eraser.
  •  Do not pick your nose on the food line at a wedding.

  •  Do not overstretch cord.  
  •  Do not overstretch credit card.

  •  Check small screws to see if they are tight. if loose, use clear teflon nail polish as screw lock or use lock tite.


UPGRADES AVAILABLE

  • Converting RCA jacks to din plugs are a smart move, in fact new units only have dins.
  •  we can upgrade any pack to 2010 for 45.00 plus battery if needed. This is a total overhaul with many new parts and complete rewiring.

  •  many vivitar upgrades available.


CLEANING HINTS: 

  •  use the isopropyl alcohol of 93% or better to clean flash internal contacts and the shoe of the flash where it makes contact on the prism.  
  •  Do not use rubbing alcohol as it contains oils and water which you are tring to get rid of.

  •  Clean both ends of AA batteries if you are still using them and do not touch any button or flat battery with greasy hands, clean with the isopropyl alcohol.
